Blox Fruits Beginner Guide: How to Start in Sea 1 (2026)

Blox Fruits Beginner Guide: How to Start in Sea 1 (2026)

Starting Blox Fruits can feel overwhelming. You spawn into the First Sea at level 1 with no Beli, no fruit, and almost no guidance from the game itself. The good news is that the First Sea follows a very predictable structure once you know it, and the first few hours are the ones that matter most for how smoothly the rest of your run goes. This guide covers the essentials: picking a faction, your first fruit, your fighting style, and the island route that gets you to level 700 without wasting time.

Step 1: Pick your faction (Pirate or Marine)

The first time you join, the game asks you to choose between Pirate and Marine. This choice only decides your spawn island and a few early quest targets — it does not lock you into a role, and you can attack any player regardless of which side you picked.

  • Pirate — you spawn at the Pirate Starter Island, surrounded by easy bandits for your first quests.
  • Marine — you spawn at the Marine Starter Island, with nearly identical quests against different targets.

For a new player there is no "correct" answer. Pick whichever looks cooler to you and move on.

Step 2: Finish the starter island quest chain

As soon as you spawn, look for the quest giver NPC — usually marked with a yellow exclamation icon above their head. Accept the first quest and keep following the chain: each completed quest unlocks the next one automatically.

  • From roughly level 1 to 10 you'll be fighting weak bandits.
  • Every kill gives Beli and XP, so don't worry about "wasting time" on quests instead of free grinding — early on, quest XP massively outpaces killing NPCs on your own.
  • Ignore the Blox Fruit Dealer for now. He sells a random fruit for around 50,000 Beli, which is far more than you'll have in your first session.

Step 3: Unlock your first fighting style

Before you get obsessed with fruits, know that the free fighting styles you unlock by leveling are extremely useful early, because they don't depend on a limited fruit inventory.

  • Black Leg, available free at around level 75, is one of the first non-negotiable upgrades — it costs nothing and stays relevant for a long time.
  • Level up by mixing quests with free grinding in the same area so you're not constantly sailing back and forth.

Step 4: Choose your first Devil Fruit carefully

Sooner or later you'll want a Devil Fruit, since they completely change how you play. You don't need to spend much at the start — any common fruit is enough to learn the system.

  • Fruits fall into three types: Paramecia (varied abilities), Zoan (melee-focused transformations) and Logia (elemental, with partial immunity to physical damage).
  • If you can get a cheap Logia like Ice, Light or Smoke, take it. They're strong in both PvE and PvP and are the safest pick for a fruit-focused build.
  • Don't spend Robux on expensive fruits as a beginner. Beli earned in-game is more than enough to get through the First Sea comfortably.

Step 5: The recommended First Sea island route

The First Sea is organized into level brackets. Following this order keeps you from running into enemies that are far too strong for you:

  • Levels 1–75: Starter Island (Pirate or Marine) and Middle Town, for your first quests and your first fighting style.
  • Levels 75–200: Jungle Island (Gorilla King), Pirate Village and Desert Island — solid grinding spots thanks to dense NPC spawns.
  • Levels 200–400: Frozen Village / Snow Mountain, Marine Fortress and Magma Village, where the bosses start actually testing your build.
  • Levels 400–700: the late First Sea islands, where you should already be preparing your build for the jump to the Second Sea.

Use the in-game compass: when you hit the minimum level for the next island it turns red. Click it and select Track to get a green diamond marker that guides your boat to the next objective.

Step 6: When to move on to the Second Sea

The jump from Sea 1 to Sea 2 happens at around level 700, by talking to the relevant NPC near Marine Fortress. Before you leave, run through this checklist so you don't have to backtrack:

  • Do you have a fruit you're actually comfortable using, ideally a Logia?
  • Is your fruit mastery at least 100, so you've unlocked 2–3 moves?
  • Do you have a fighting style at mastery 50+ as a fallback?
  • Have you saved some Beli for your first Second Sea purchases?
  • Have you properly explored the First Sea? Coming back later is possible but inconvenient.

Common beginner mistakes

  • Free grinding instead of questing. Quests give far more XP per minute than killing NPCs aimlessly.
  • Blowing all your Beli on the first fruit you see. The Dealer's stock rotates — sometimes it's worth waiting for something better.
  • Not checking active codes before a long grind session. Many give temporary 2x EXP boosts that are wasted if you redeem them after you're done playing — grab the current ones from our Blox Fruits codes page before you start.
  • Dumping stats with no plan. A balanced spread — prioritizing Fruit with some Defense and Melee — keeps you from needing a reset later.
