1. What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store on your device. It can be read again on later visits or on other pages of the same site. Similar technologies — local storage, pixels, device identifiers — do the same job in a different way, and everything in this policy applies to them too.

Cookies are described as first-party when they are set by the site you are visiting, and third-party when they are set by another company whose content or service is loaded into the page, such as an advertising provider.

2. Your choice

The only cookies CodesBlox sets without asking are the ones strictly necessary to make the Site work. Everything else — in practice, advertising — is only stored after you consent, through the banner shown on your first visit.

You can change your decision at any time: click "Cookie settings" in the footer of any page to reopen the banner, or clear this site's cookies in your browser, which will bring the banner back on your next visit. Withdrawing consent stops advertising cookies from being set from that moment on; cookies already placed by Google expire on their own or can be deleted from your browser (see section 5).

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we manage this through a consent management platform certified by Google, and your choice is passed to advertising vendors before any ad is served.

3. Categories of cookies used

3.1 Strictly necessary

These are required for the Site to function or to record a choice you have made. They do not require consent under Article 22.2 of Spanish Law 34/2002 (LSSI) and the ePrivacy Directive.

codesblox_consent

Set by CodesBlox (first party). Stores your cookie choices so the banner is not shown again on every page. Duration: 6 months.

PHPSESSID

Set by CodesBlox (first party). Keeps a logged-in staff member authenticated in the private administration panel. Never set for ordinary visitors. Duration: session.

3.2 Advertising

Set only if you consent. CodesBlox is funded by advertising supplied by Google AdSense (Google Ireland Limited).

IDE

Set by doubleclick.net (Google). Measures ad interactions, caps frequency and helps prevent fraud. Duration: up to 13 months.

test_cookie

Set by doubleclick.net (Google). Checks whether your browser accepts cookies. Duration: 15 minutes.

__gads, __gpi

Set by Google as first-party cookies on codesblox.com. Used for ad delivery, frequency capping and invalid-traffic detection. Duration: up to 13 months.

Google may set additional cookies or use similar identifiers. Google maintains a current list of the cookies it uses for advertising at business.safety.google/adscookies, and describes how it processes data from partner sites at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Important: CodesBlox serves non-personalised advertising only, across the whole Site and to all visitors. Ads are selected from the content of the page and coarse geographic location, never from a profile of your past browsing. The cookies above are still used for frequency capping, aggregated reporting and fraud prevention, which is why consent is required.

3.3 Analytics

CodesBlox does not use Google Analytics or any third-party analytics product. The anonymous page-view counts behind the "Top Games" ranking are calculated on our own server and involve no cookie and no identifier — see our Privacy Policy.

3.4 Social media and embedded content

CodesBlox does not embed social media widgets, comment systems, video players or tracking pixels from any social platform.

4. Other third-party resources

The Site loads web fonts from Google Fonts to display its typography. Requesting a font causes your browser to contact Google's servers, which may log your IP address under Google's own privacy policy. This is a network request, not a cookie, and it cannot be refused through the consent banner.

5. Managing cookies in your browser

Independently of our banner, you can block or delete cookies through your browser:

• Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies
• Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
• Safari: Settings → Privacy
• Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions

Blocking all cookies will not break CodesBlox, though the consent banner may reappear on each visit because the cookie recording your choice cannot be stored.

You can also opt out of advertising cookies from participating vendors at youronlinechoices.eu, or manage your Google ad settings at myadcenter.google.com.

6. Children and young people

We know a substantial part of our audience is under 18. Personalised advertising is disabled site-wide and the Site is designated as child-directed in our advertising settings. In Spain, consent to data processing can be given from the age of 14; if you are younger than that, please ask a parent or guardian before accepting advertising cookies on the banner.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as the Site or its advertising setup changes. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version. If we introduce a new category of cookie, the banner will ask for your consent again.
