Wonderland Roblox: How to Survive the Mole and Worm Chases
Published 28/08/2026 · About Wonderland By Jorge
The first thing to understand about Wonderland's early bosses is that they aren't boss fights at all. The Mole and the Worm can't be damaged, blocked, or outfought — they're scripted chase sequences with a fixed route, and the only way past them is to run the route correctly. Players who die here over and over are almost always losing the same two seconds at the start, or missing a lever halfway through. Here's how each one works and what actually gets you out.
Where the first bosses sit in a run
A full run follows a fixed order of sections, even though the levels themselves are randomized:
- Levels 1–2
- Mole Chase — the first scripted chase
- Levels 3–4
- Worm Chase — the second, and the one most players get stuck on
- Levels 5–6
- Coaster Chase
- Levels 7–8, then Wonder & Wander
The rooms, monster spawns and puzzle locations change between runs, so memorizing one map is useless. The chase sections, on the other hand, are scripted and repeatable — which is exactly why they're learnable.
The rule that applies to both chases
Every chase opens with a cutscene, and that cutscene points your camera backwards at the monster — the opposite of where you need to go. The moment control returns to your character, snap your view 180° toward the exit and start moving. There's no grace period; the monster is already active. That first second decides how the rest of the sequence goes.
The second rule: don't look behind you. Everything you need is in front — the next platform, the next lever, the next landing. Watching the monster tells you nothing useful and costs you a jump.
Mole Chase (after Level 2)
The Mole is a burrower that pursues you across crumbling platforms and switch-activated gates. The sequence combines forward movement, platforming and lever interactions.
- Turn immediately and start moving the instant the cutscene ends.
- Hit every lever along the route with E. The gates ahead don't open on their own.
- Sprint in controlled bursts instead of emptying your stamina at the start. Arriving at a precision jump with no stamina left gives you no room to correct a mistake.
- In co-op, split the work. Forward runners can hit the overhead levers while trailing players conserve stamina.
Worm Chase (after Level 4)
This is the first real wall in the game, and it trips up almost everyone on the first attempt. If you keep dying here, it's the level design, not you. The route:
- Turn away from the Worm as soon as you have control.
- Sprint down the tunnel, pressing E on every lever as you pass. A single missed switch leaves the exit gate locked — getting there first means nothing if you skipped one.
- Head for the door with green lights and clear the short parkour section.
- Do not run at the wooden door at the end of the tunnel — it's locked. Jump straight down into the hole in the floor instead.
You know it worked when you drop through the hole and the chase ends. Later chases in the game do return, but this one is widely considered the hardest, so clearing it is the real hurdle.
Before you even reach the chases
- Play the Entrance tutorial properly. It teaches movement and stamina, and stamina is what kills people in the chases.
- Start on Easy. Learn the routes first; difficulty scaling only makes the same mistakes more expensive.
- Know what co-op changes. A team covers ground faster and recovers from mistakes better, but some systems — boss health and collection quotas — scale with the number of surviving players.
Why footage you find online may not match
Wonderland received several balance passes shortly after launch. Chase difficulty for the Mole and the Worm, enemy damage, stamina and boss scaling were all adjusted. Launch-day videos can show noticeably harder versions of these sections than what's in the game now, so if a walkthrough looks impossible, check how old it is before assuming you're doing something wrong.
